Felt pennants are usually reserved for sports teams or other souvenirs, but through this workshop, attendees will be able to make any kind of pennant they wish, all with hand cut felt, glue, sewing, and other methods. BT Livermore, who leads this workshop, has been making pennants for years now, some screenprinted in large quantities, but many custom ones that are made in exactly the method taught in this workshop.

This workshop will allow attendees to create their own finger puppets using felt and other materials. Parents of younger students should expect to stick around to assist them. Mask wearing is highly encouraged.

Our relief printing expert, Christine Martin will lead this workshop, and will cover the basics of linoleum block printing. This workshop will discuss the tools and materials necessary to print in our studio, as well as at home. Non-toxic, low odor ink will be used.

Learn how to take your own work and other paper ephemera and wheatpaste it onto any surface. Christine Martin will lead this workshop, and will cover wheatpasting techniques. Weather permitting, attendees will wheatpaste all their work onto panels on the Phoenix Building’s back deck.

In this two-part workshop, BT Livermore will instruct attendees on the basics of letterpress printing, from setting type and ornaments, selecting ink, and operating the press, all to create a one or two color business card, calling card, or postcard of your choice.
Workshop will run for two sessions, to make sure everyone has time to complete a print.
Monday the 13th and Tuesday the 14th, both sessions will be 6-9pm.
Cost: $30
Participants will create miniature, mixed media portraits of themselves or others in this workshop. Ages 7 and up. Parents of children under 10 are asked to stay on premises during the workshop and are encouraged to create something as well.
